Hindman Auctions, one of the nation's leading fine art auction houses, is looking to add a full-time VP of Marketing & Communications in our Chicago office. As a member of the senior leadership team, the VP will lead all aspects of marketing, from lead generation for sales, development of customer expansion strategies and media relations, brand development, and product management. The VP provides the expertise, vision, and leadership needed to develop marketing programs designed to acquire new clients and build profitable, long-term customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess the business climate for the company and its primary competitors, taking into account both products and prospects
  • Identify opportunities for growth and differentiation within our target marketplace
  • Create marketing strategies and tactics to target selected markets; develop a comprehensive mix of programs designed to build brand recognition, increase qualified leads and grow profitable sales across market channels and segments
  • Develop and lead the planning, forecasting, and marketing of Hindman products and services across all stages of the product lifecycle
  • Work closely with the regional offices to help realize their marketing and revenue goals
  • Develop budgeting support for a comprehensive Hindman marketing program that includes personnel and marketing campaigns as well as development of website content and collateral, sales tools and training, and social media networking
  • Establish and oversee immediate and long-term goals for each member of the marketing team
  • Ensure communications deliver a brand-consistent message
  • Develop key messaging for target markets and/or product lines

Successful Candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience developing strategic marketing initiatives in direct-selling environments, including branding, internet marketing, media positioning, social networking, and communications
  • Experience in the auction industry or working with luxury brands
  • Superior strategic planning and organizational skills with a hands-on execution style
  • Ability to manage effectively at both a strategic and operational level
  • Excellent project management skills, problem solving capabilities and analytical skills
  • Impeccable communication and presentation skills
