Leslie Hindman Auctioneers, one of the nation's leading and fastest growing fine art auction houses, is seeking a self-starting, highly motivated, experienced IT Coordinator.

 

As IT Coordinator, you will play an essential role in setting up networking and telecommunications equipment to seamlessly conduct more than 50 auctions per year. You will also oversee day-to-day operations of employee workstations, networking equipment, company email, printers and phones for employees in Chicago headquarters and multiple regional offices.

 

Key Projects:

  • Implement a cost-effective strategy to migrate current content and services from on-premise servers to cloud vendors
  • Develop a company-wide file structure, hierarchy and naming convention to improve the ability of sales employees to access and manage files, including a systematic approach for archiving
  • Create a system that tracks workstation metrics and user support so root cause analysis can be performed and proactive solutions can be implemented

 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage information technology and computer systems; preserve organizational assets by ensuring security of data, network access and backup systems
  • Recommend information technology strategies, policies, and procedures by evaluating organization outcomes, evaluating trends and anticipating requirements
  • Provide help desk support for headquarters and regional office employees
  • Set-up new employee workstations and service existing workstations to maintain optimal performance; identify IT improvements (software, hardware, and processes) to continually improve operational efficiency
  • Install and configure software and hardware (printers, network cards, etc.)
  • Setup equipment necessary to conduct successful auctions; upload and update online inventory catalogues; provide phone assistance to customers on bidding platforms
  • Work closely with vendors who provide IT services (internet, phone, printer toner, other services) for Chicago and other locations

 

Qualifications and skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science or related field
  • 3-5 years' experience in information technology, including comprehensive understanding of computer systems, both Windows and Mac
  • Hands-on experience and knowledge of Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange; familiarity with Avaya phone systems
  • Experience with computer networks, VPNs, network administration, and firewalls; experience managing Xerox work centers preferred
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
